Shift planning: from weekly schedule to monthly closing

A rota doesn't end when you publish it. Only when planning, recorded hours and absences align do the entries become a reliable basis for payroll.

Start with roles and absences

Decide which areas need staffing, such as service, bar and kitchen. Check leave and other absences before assigning shifts. This highlights shortages earlier and makes changes easier to follow.

Separate drafts from published rotas

A rota can change during preparation. Publish it when staffing is settled. In Keksu, staff see published shifts in their app. One central version reduces the search for the latest screenshot.

Check planned and recorded hours

The rota describes your plan; time tracking records what happened. Check discrepancies, breaks and missing entries before monthly closing. Make corrections based on actual working hours.

Hand over monthly figures clearly

After checking, use monthly figures and tips for payroll preparation. Keksu brings these steps together in the staff module. Final payroll remains your payroll office's responsibility.
